Take a Bunny Break

I think we can all agree that rabbits are among the cutest farm animals that ever lived. Our American blue rabbits are no exception. These three rabbits have un wrapped around their furry feet… or are they wrapped around ours. In the video below, you can see Henry, our buck, circling my feet.

Circling is a courtship behavior. Henry truly loves me. In the description of the video, I have added time stamps so that it’s easier for you to enjoy seeing the rabbits.

When you watch this second video , notice how social the rabbits are. Their need for attention, play and exercise are exactly why rabbits make such great pets. Although rabbits can behave territorially around their cage, during free time outside their cage they are curious and playful.

Find out more information about raising rabbits by attending our Farmily Days or visiting the farm to feed the rabbits or chickens treat daily Monday - Saturday, 8am - 5pm. Rabbits love kale, arugula and green branches off of mulberry, apply, muscadine and fig trees. Chickens love sunflower seeds, garden weeds and any leftover vegetables (that aren’t too moldy). Make a plan to visit EAT South on the next sunny day!
