After School Farm Club
Hi everyone!
Farmer Amanda here. Our Spring is beginning already. Momentum is picking up as we settle into the rhythm of a new growing season. We are filling up the greenhouse with seed trays full of greens, herbs and summer fruit such as tomatoes and peppers. This is one of my favorite times of the year.
Your family can join us on this journey through spring by signing your child up for the After School Farm Club. We have developed the program in partnership with Community Centers supported by the Big Cedar Education Foundation. Additional kits can be made available for families outside the centers for $70 a semester. During this spring we will engage students through hands-on activities picked up from the farm every other week. Monday Zoom Farm Club will allow participants to be part of a group chat with me.
Some of what your child will learn:
how to grow vegetables from a seed
how to use local ingredients in the kitchen
how to build healthy soil
how to raise poultry in an urban setting
how to find and identify insects in their natural habitats
The activities can be done in pairs. Limit of one kit per family. Our activities are fun for the whole family, however they are geared toward elementary age children.
For more information about the activities and how to sign up CLICK HERE. Space is limited. Sign up by February 6th.
