Looking back on 2021

Looking back over the year, we were so excited to welcome people back to the farm in 2021!

Since January, we hosted a social distance seed swap, summer camp and Farmily Day returned, and we offered workshops on seed starting, organic gardening, fall gardening, drip irrigation, creating community gardens and planting garlic. Summer interns from Tuskegee University taught campers, worked on vegetable trials, and built a drip irrigation system. Students from the Therapeutic Recreation Center returned for monthly classes, and the Capital City Master Gardeners created a vegetable garden demonstration site on the farm.

We built a giant container garden, doubled our growing space, and donated 1900 lbs of food to local food pantries. The greenhouse was a busy place, and we shared 1114 plants and seed packets with community and backyard gardeners. Volunteers returned and provided 1300 hours of service - from teaching during summer camp to completely rebuilding and staining the caboose deck!

We invite you to be a part of E.A.T. South in 2022. Visit, volunteer, attend a workshop (2022 workshops will be posted soon!), and donate. Contributions keep these programs going and the gardens growing. Thank you!
