Welcome Our Fall Intern
Hello everyone!
My name is DeForest Tuggle, and I am so excited to be interning with E.A.T. South this fall. I am currently a senior at Auburn majoring in Nutrition with a minor in Nonprofit Studies. I grew up around Lake Martin in Alexander City, Alabama. I now live in Auburn with my two dogs, Bella and Pippin. When I’m not studying for my classes, you can find me hiking, camping, or tagging along with my boyfriend to one of his photography shoots.
I chose to intern at E.A.T. South because it combines my love for nutrition, agriculture, and nonprofit! I believe that providing people with better access to fresh produce is a great way to encourage a healthy lifestyle. This aligns perfectly with E.A.T. South’s mission. I mainly work with E.A.T. South’s after school program on Mondays and Thursdays, and I help out with chores around the farm. I am really enjoying my time here, and I have already learned so much about farming and managing a nonprofit!
Hope to see you at the farm!
