We help you grow.
On the fifth day of Give-mas, your farmers give to thee...workshops about gardenenening!!! (O.k., maybe this theme is starting to make us a little loopy.) Every year we organize free workshops and a seed swap to provide our community with the tools to grow fresh, healthy and affordable food.
This year, we hosted our second annual Seedy Saturday Seed Swap and workshops on organic gardening, fall gardening, backyard livestock, saving money & living better, and the very popular workshop on building rain barrels. We’ll announce our 2020 workshop series soon, but save February 29 for Seedy Saturday. We’re saving purple sweet potatoes and red okra for you.
Almost every month (except when it’s entirely too hot), we host Community Projects. Community Projects are part volunteer project part seasonal gardening lesson. The volunteer part helps us keep the farm growing, and we’re always learning and teaching. We may cover bug ID, basic botany and plant families (sweet potatoes and morning glories are related so are yellow squash and loofas), or how to put drip irrigation together. We also harvest during community projects, and volunteers take home fresh seasonal food.
Stay tuned for our 2020 schedule, and please give to support our workshops and other programs.
