Teach me how to pickle
If you're anything like me, once your summer garden begins taking off you can't eat your cucumbers fast enough! Well, fear not because you can turn those extra cukes into your favorite salty/sweet snack--pickles!
What you'll need:
- 2 cups of Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 cups white vinegar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp dill weed
- 1 tsp mustard seed
- Sliced onion and slivered garlic to taste
To prepare, cut your cucumbers however you like. I like long quartered chunks for snacking and hamburger slices if I'm preparing for a BBQ. Arrange your slices or chunks in a jar--you want it to be pretty full. Take your ingredients and boil over a stove for 5 minutes. Then, pour into the jars until full. Refrigerate for at least 3 days for best taste!
Happy Pickling!
