Baled It! is teaching a Straw Bale Gardening workshop at the Alabama State Teaching Garden. You’ll learn how to transform straw bales into productive gardens. Straw bale gardening is an affordable way to build gardens - especially when you may not have a lot of space or can’t grow in the ground.

You’ll learn to:

condition a bale to get it ready for growing.

how to plant

how to fertilize

how to keep food growing

and what to do when the bale falls apart (hint: mulch or compost!)

The workshop is free. It will be outside so wear a hat, bring water, and wear sunscreen.

Baled It! is a Montgomery nonprofit supporting healthy eating and physical activity. They also teach how to build a garden using straw bales.
